Day1: Arrival at WAN Village (7,000 ft.).  Our representative at WAN will help you check in. You can spend the rest of the day relaxing in the beautiful village.  Dinner and overnight stay at WAN village.

Day2: Wan Village to Bedni Bugyal via Ali Bugyal (11,600 ft.- 4 hour, 13 km trek. Our trek starts after breakfast. We trek through forests of Rhododendron and Oak. Rest at the picturesque village of Gariroli Patal.  At Ali Bugyal we find mesmerizing views of Mt. Trishul, Mt. Nandagunti, Nilkantha peak, Chandrashila Peak etc. We camp at Bedni Bugyal (Meadow) and have lunch. Experience the beautiful sunset at Bedni Bugyal. Dinner and overnight stay at the campsite.

Day3: Bedni Bugyal to Bhagwabasa via Patar Nachuli. (14,000 ft.- 5 hours, 10 km trek). On the way is the Kālu Vinayak Temple. The day has a strenuous trek on the cards as the altitude increases and the air gets thinner.  We camp at Bhagwabasa on snow and have a hot lunch. Practice session with advanced gears like gaiters and crampons for the next days treks.

Day4:  Bhagwabasa to Roopkund lake and return to Patar Nachuli. (16,480  ft., 8 hours, 12 km trek). Start early to reach the Roopkund lake. The extra equipment will help trek on the snow. The view of the lake is an out of the world feeling. Return to Bhagwabasa for breakfast. Trek to Patar Nachuli for lunch. Pitch camp at Patar Nachuli.

Day5:  Patarnachuli to DelDung. (10,000 ft., 3 hour, 7 km trek). A very picturesque and easy going trek as we descend. Ideal for photographers to click some of the most amazing views of the Himalayas.

Day6:  Del Dung to Wan. (7,000 ft., 3 hour , 7 km trek). Breakfast and trek to our base camp at Wan. Explore the village and enjoy a bonfire with the locals who share their storied and legends.

Day7:  Breakfast and departure from Wan.

What is the grade of the Roopkund Trek? The trek is classified as a moderate to difficult trek and can be done by first time trekkers who have a general level of fitness. One needs to get into some strength and cardiovascular fitness schedule for two weeks to prepare for the trek. How can I go to Roopkund? And what is the base camp? The Roopkund lake trek has Lohajung or Wan village as the two base camps. This is located in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. Both are small villages on the slopes of the mountains. You need to have your basic trekking gear with your before reaching these villages. Will I need mules/porters for the trek? If yes where will I find them? The trail for the trek is clearly marked but on the last day it may happen that you require a porter. Although we make sure that the weight of your backpack is not more than 10 kg but at the higher altitudes the temperature will be very low and the air will be thin. Here you might need a porter or mule to carry your backpack. You can book mules or porters at Wan Village.   What’s the best time for this trek? The trek is done in two seasons- May-June/ August –September. In May-June the Bugyals or meadows are greener and the lakes will be thawed. This is the best time to get a view of the legendary skeletons of Roopkund. However you will not find much snow on the trek in this season. If you choose to do the trek in the post monsoon season the Bugyals will be browner and there will be a lot of snow towards the end of the season. How many days are required for this trek? The trek is a 6-7 day trek What is the maximum height attained? The maximum height that can be attained is the trek is 16,480 feet. This is a place called Junargali. The Roopkund Lake is situated at a height of 15500 ft. The best way to do this trek is to go slow and keep yourself hydrated throughout.   What is the arrangement for stay and food on the trek? We provide two days accommodation at Wan village in the guest houses and 4 days accommodation in twin/triple sharing camps on the trek. Nutritious food will be cooked and provided on the trek by the cooks and their helpers.

WHAT TO TAKE

The following is a list of clothing that we suggest that you take with you. This is not intended to be a comprehensive list, rather it is intended to act as a reminder of those items that we feel are essential for your comfort and convenience. However, we recognize that you may have your own personal preferences for clothing which may be equally as suitable. An experienced trekker would advise you to travel light. Try to carry minimum luggage as it will be convenient for you. Carry only what is required. Here’s a guide to help you pack for the trek ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENT FOR TREKKER:-- Carry ID proof for information. Back pack (60 liter -70ltr) Waterproof Trekking shoes 2 synthetic /waterproof Track Pants (Do not bring shorts, tight jeans, Capris) T-shirts - 3 full sleeve. 1 Fleece Jacket, 1 Wind proof jacket, 1 Heavy jacket, Thermal Inners. 2 pairs cotton socks and 2 pairs woolen socks, 2 pair water proof hand gloves. Sun protection cream, Woollen monkey cap/balaclava that cover the ear. A woollen head-scarf or muffler/ Sun Cap, walking stick Sun  glasses, Head Torch with extra batteries, Power Bank to charge mobile, water bottle Lip Balm/ cold cream/Hand Sanitizer, Toilet kit/ toilet Paper / wipes. Gaiters advisable for Pre Monsoon Trek. Medicines :  Crocin - 6 tablets/Avomine - 4 tablets/Avil 25mg - 4 tablets/Combiflam -5 tablets/Disprin - 10 tablets/Norflox - 10 tablets/Crepe bandage - 3 to 5 meters/Band aid - 10 strips/Digene - 10 tablets/Gauze cloth - 1 small role/Leukoplast - 1 small roll/Cotton - 1 small roll/ORS - 5 packets/ Betadine or any antiseptic cream/ Volini or Moov or Relispray/Diamox - 10 tablets (to be taken only if required and but not as preventive medicine/Any other medicine that you take as per Doctor prescription).
