Strength conditioning: Overall strength can be developed by resistance training which can either be done in the gym by lifting weights or by body-weight exercises done anywhere like push-ups, pull-ups, squats and lunges. Doing plans can really help develop a strong core which is very helpful in dealing with physical stress. Cardiovascular conditioning: Walking on inclined treadmills or on undulating land will help simulate the actual trekking. Jogging 2-3 km every day two weeks prior to the trek will help in getting the required level of cardiovascular fitness.
